Dorothy Jane began playing piano at age 4, violin at age 9 and guitar, mandolin & upright bass soon followed. Currently a young teenager at 15, she has written 2 originals of her own and has added her mothers' (Jennifer Siver) original works to her set lists. Dorothy Jane's musical roots grew in 2007 when she began playing Bluegrass. Her mom and dad picked up instruments and began playing along with her, soon forming The Siver Family band. Dorothy Jane has played on many a stage in her short life and has started a solo career, fronting her own band The Dorothy Jane Siver Band. Currently she is branching into other genres of music (Folk & Christian Country). She also loves Classic Rock from the 1970's (Journey & Fleetwood Mac) and has added a song or two from that classic sound into her acoustic repertoire. Her debut CD "My Journey Begins" was released on June 4th, 2011, with Ampersand Records USA under the ownership and guidance of Bob Harris. Look for 2012 to be filled with numerous "singles" with hopes of them hitting the charts. Speaking of charts, Dorothy Jane Siver's debut CD single "All The Angels Sang" promoted by HMG Nashville, came in at number 80 in December 2011. HMG Nashville is very proud of that, stating "it is rare for a first time artist to even chart" let alone hit number 80 out of the top 100 on the Power Source Christian Country Chart. Dorothy Jane has received some new music from one of the countries best songwriters, Louisa Branscomb (Steel Rails fame). Look for new music in 2012 that will combine the lyrics of Louisa Branscomb and the musical arrangements of Dorothy Jane Siver.
